I mentioned that we would share a little history on the Black Dinah Chocolatiers company. It all started on the small island of Isle au Haut just a few miles from the mainland coast of Maine. Kate Shaffer frequently made “exquisite confections” in her cafe and served these to locals and visitors alike.

Located in the shadow of a towering “crag” known locally as Black Dinah Mountain, word of Shaffer’s delicious chocolate concoctions spread and today, it’s no surprise that Black Dinah Chocolatiers is a name familiar not only throughout the state of Maine but also far beyond.
